Our Teams

Welcome to the terrific Tui Team. Our classes are made up from our Year 0-1 children. Our classrooms are located in the new classroom block on the ground floor level.

The children spend their day engaged in a range of activities with the emphasis in the morning being on Numeracy and Literacy. Your child will bring home a reading book each day. Please take the time to listen to them read and praise their efforts. These books need to be recorded in their reading log. Please ensure reading books come back to school each day as we will be unable to send a new one home if they are not returned. Our team philosophy is underpinned by a Learning Through Play approach.

The children’s progress is monitored and reported on to parents mid-way through the year, and at the end of the school year. Parents are encouraged to visit to discuss progress and parent help is appreciated. Please contact your class teacher to arrange a suitable time. We look forward to making the first years of learning at school enjoyable and successful.

Welcome to the wonderful Kereru Team. The Kereru Team is made up of 4 classes of Year 1 and 2 children. We are located in Rooms 5 to 8 upstairs in the new classroom block. We encourage curiosity and empower the children to take initiative of their own learning.

Welcome to the truly terrific Totara Team. There are 5 classrooms made up from our Year 3 and 4 children in 2023. Our classrooms are located in Rooms 16, 17, 18, 21 & 22.

The children spend their day engaged in a range of activities with the emphasis in the mornings being on literacy and numeracy. Inquiry concepts are learnt throughout the curriculum. Your child will bring home a reading book most days. Please take the time to listen to them read and praise their efforts. Please ensure reading books come back to school as soon as they are finished as we will be unable to send a new one home until they are returned.

The Totara Team teachers are committed and enthusiastic with a range of experience and expertise.

Welcome to the strong and proud Kauri Team. There are 6 classes in the Kauri Team in 2023, and we enjoy working with each other and the different teachers in our team. All of the Kauri Team classes are made up from our Year 5 and 6 children. Our classrooms are located in Rooms 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15.

Kauri Team children are encouraged to be individuals, yet work as part of team. We set our expectations high for our children and work towards achieving individual goals, experience and expertise. We take pride in being role models to the other students in our school.

At the beginning of each year, the Kauri Team travel to camp for 2-3 nights. In 2023 this will be at Carey Park in Henderson Valley.

We have professional dance lessons toward the end of the year where we teach our children how to ‘Cha-cha’, ‘Rock and Roll’ and a number of other dances. We finish the lessons with a formal social night where the children enjoy dancing the steps they have learnt.
